What is Adrenal Insufficiency?
Adrenal insufficiency is a hormonal disorder that occurs when the adrenal glands fail to produce enough cortisol and, in some cases, aldosterone. These hormones regulate metabolism, blood pressure, and the body’s stress response. Without adequate production, individuals experience chronic fatigue, weight loss, and low blood pressure. The condition can be primary (Addison’s disease) or secondary, caused by pituitary gland dysfunction. Early diagnosis and proper management are essential to prevent severe health complications.
